Job Description:

Assume a lead role in the design and maintenance of visual elements of Sanrio.com, a dynamic content and e-commerce web site, plus related sites, to support Sanrio’s marketing and e-commerce objectives

Essential Functions:
• Work closely with a cross-functional group to define and create satisfying user experiences
• Create engaging interactive design solutions for e-commerce and content pages. Projects may include wallpapers, calendars, games, prototypes, department pages, landing pages, boutique sites, advertising banners, promotional email development, and other site elements.
• Photograph merchandise and prepare product images as required for use in e-store
• Present concepts within the web team and to other internal divisions
• Maintain design consistency and brand identity across all projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Required Skills/Education:
• A design degree is preferred (BFA/MFA in graphic design, digital media design or other visual arts)
• Adobe Photoshop, Flash (including ActionScripting), Illustrator and some HTML knowledge required. Dreamweaver, Fireworks and CSS desirable
• Strong conceptual skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to take a project from inception to completion
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of standards and best practices for online media, including user interface design and information architecture concepts
• Ability to take and give creative direction
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects to meet tight deadlines
• 3-5 years experience working on large-scale, dynamic web sites
• Online portfolio and sample URLs required for application

Preferred Qualifications:
• Enthusiasm for the Sanrio brand and characters
• Marketing and/or merchandising/retail experience desired
• E-Commerce experience a plus
• Experience with content management systems desired
