Hello Kitty is returning to Boardfest '06 at the Huntington Beach Pier this Labor Day weekend, September 2-4 2006, as a co-sponsor of the largest and most unique GIRLS' celebration of its kind. The surf-skate-snow-inspired festival showcases music, fashion and interactive exhibits along with underlying themes of health, beauty, fitness and charity. Hello Kitty herself will join in the fun, along with more than 100,000 kids, tweens, teens and young adults.
"We're really excited to be back at Boardfest this year," says Bruce Giuliano, Senior Vice President of Licensing at SANRIO. "Hello Kitty appeals to girls and women of all ages and we're honored to be able to participate in an event that reaches everyone from women pro surfers to the families on the beach."
SANRIO, a company devoted to empowering girls, has participated in Boardfest since it originated in 2004. In addition to SANRIO, KTLA and the all-new CW network will co-sponsor this three-day spectacular. Events vary from an all-girl Snowboard Rail Jam competition to CosmoGirl makeovers. And of course, don't forget to bring a camera -- the young (and young at heart) can pose for photos with Hello Kitty at the Hello Kitty booth.
Boardfest '06 offers something for every level of involvement. Professional and amateur competitions were feature 100 high-caliber women athletes, beginning and intermediate surfing and skateboarding clinics, makeovers, live bands, education, games, activities and attractions, while spreading the important message of staying active and healthy. The vast majority of Boardfest is open to the public free-of-charge.
So don't miss out on the opportunity to Hang-5, Alley-oop or just plain kick back with Hello Kitty. This jam-packed event is a must-attend for the holiday weekend.
