Hello Friends! It's National Bubble Tea day and today we have a supercute and super sweet bubble tea DIY and recipe.
Meet the creator:
Hi! My name is Kate O’Leary and I'm a lover of all things sugar and color! I have created a wonderfully whimsy Instagram space (@K8oleary22) that informs, inspires, and entertains all the creative souls out there.
My favorite things to do are travel (the further the better) and create colorful concoctions, while on a never ending mission to find the most sugar-filled treats the world has to offer!
That said, join me as I teach you step-by-step how to create these Pompompurin & Friends Bubble Teas, each with their own unique flavor!
Let's get started!
Pompompurin Mango Bubble Tea
Ingredients
- 1/2 c mango (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/2 c milk
- 2 Tbsp tapioca pearls (boba)
- Milk chocolate melting chocolates
Supplies
- Blender
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Small glass cup (with an opening large enough for Boba)
- Piping bag
- Bubble tea straw
1. Let’s start by piping Pompompurin’s face on the glass! Melt down a few of your melting chocolates in a microwave safe bowl for approximately 2 minutes, stopping every 30 seconds to stir. Next, scoop your melted chocolate into a piping bag with tip trim about 1/8 of an inch. Grab your glass and begin by piping Pompompurin’s hat about a 1/4 of the way down. Moving down to to the middle of the glass, pipe two small circular eyes. Finish his face with a cute little smile and nose just below his eyes. Set aside.
2. Now let’s move onto the delicious bubble tea! Start by cooking your tapioca pearls. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and slowly add your tapioca pearls. When the tapioca pearls float to the top of the water, cover the pot and let simmer for 2-3 minutes. Next, remove the tapioca pearls and place in cool water for about 5 minutes. Once cooled, pour into your Pompompurin glass!
3. Now we’re ready for the mango milk! Put your mango, honey, and milk into a blender. Blend ingredients until completely smooth. Next pour into your Pompompurin glass and add ice if desired. Enjoy your refreshing drink!
Hello Kitty Strawberry Bubble Tea
Ingredients
- 1/2 c strawberries
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 c milk
- 2 Tbsp tapioca pearls (boba)
- Milk chocolate melting chocolates
- White chocolate melting chocolates
- Red food coloring
- Yellow food coloring
Supplies
- Muddler
- Bowl
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Small glass cup (with an opening large enough for Boba)
- 3 piping bags
- Bubble tea straw
1. Let’s start by piping Hello Kitty’s face on the glass! Melt down a few of your white and milk chocolate melting chocolates in two microwave safe bowls for approximately 2 minutes, stopping every 30 seconds to stir. Divide the white chocolate into two smaller bowls so you can add the food coloring. Stir in two drops of red food coloring into one bowl and 2 drops of yellow food coloring into the other. Next, scoop the three different chocolates into each of your piping bags with the tips trimmed about 1/8 of an inch. Now grab your glass and red colored chocolate and begin by piping Hello Kitty’s signature bow just below the glass rim. Next using your milk chocolate, move down to to the middle of the glass and pipe two small oval shaped eyes. On either side of the eyes pipe three whiskers approximately 1 inch in length. Now we can’t forget Hello Kitty’s adorable nose! Take your yellow colored chocolate and pipe a small sideways oval between her two eyes. Good work! Set aside.
Once cooled, pour into your Hello Kitty glass!
3. We’re ready for the strawberry milk! Start by trimming and hulling the strawberries. Next place the strawberries and sugar into a bowl and use your muddler by firmly pressing and twisting until the strawberries are pureed. Pour the strawberry puree through a strainer to remove any larger pieces. Now the fun part! Pour the strained strawberry puree into your Hello Kitty glass and over top of the tapioca pearls. Top with cold milk. Add ice if desired. Bottoms up!
Keroppi Matcha Bubble Tea
Ingredients
- 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp hot water
- 1/2 c milk
- 2 Tbsp tapioca pearls (boba)
- Milk chocolate melting chocolates
- White chocolate melting chocolates
- Pink food coloring
Supplies
- Bowl
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Small glass cup (with an opening large enough for Boba)
- 3 piping bags
- Bubble tea straw
1. Let’s start by piping Keroppi’s face on the glass! Melt down a few of your white and milk chocolate melting chocolates in two microwave safe bowls for approximately 2 minutes, stopping every 30 seconds to stir. Divide the white chocolate into two smaller bowls. Put one of the bowls aside that will remain white in color. In the other, stir in two drops of pink food coloring and mix well. Scoop each of your three chocolates into the piping bags with the tips trimmed about 1/8 of an inch. Grab your glass and white chocolate and begin by piping Keroppi’s large round eyes in the center of your glass. Next using your pink colored chocolate, pipe two smaller circles just below his eyes for rosy cheeks. Now, with the milk chocolate piping bag, draw two smaller circles within the large white circles for Keroppi’s pupils. For the finishing touch, still using the milk chocolate piping bag, create a V shaped smile! So cute! Set aside.
2. Let’s move onto the yummy bubble tea! Once cooled, pour into your Keroppi glass!
3. Now we’re ready for the matcha tea! In a bowl, mix matcha green tea powder and honey with the hot water. Stir well until all of the matcha powder and honey is completely dissolved. Place in fridge until cooled (approximately 10 minutes). Once cooled, pour in the milk and mix until well combined. Next, grab your Keroppi glass with tapioca pearls and pour in the matcha tea. Add ice if desired.
Enjoy!
