The trailer begins with Retsuko sitting in her messy apartment playing a VR game, saying meekly, “I’m done exploring… I don’t have any special talents, so I’m gonna live an honest life with my feet on the ground.” But her plans are quickly dashed, however, as she is suddenly faced with a surprising investment opportunity from Director Gori. Later, she backs into the car of Mr. Hyodo, the shrewd manager of the underground idol group “OTMGirls,” and ends up getting hired to perform odd jobs for the group. Now spending time in the sparkling underbelly of the idol world, and finding herself in dire financial straits, a return to her death metal singing days seems increasingly likely. Also, was that another woman with Haida...?! The fate of these two is sure to keep you glued to your screen!
This season of Aggretsuko welcomes voice actor Yuki Kaji to the cast to play a white unicorn named Seiya, who gives off a dashing, princely aura. Kaji is known for voicing main characters Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan and Meliodas in The Seven Deadly Sins, among other roles in popular works. Thrilled at participating in the show, Kaji says: “I remember when I first encountered Aggretsuko I was shocked to hear that kind of death metal voice coming from such a cute character (laughs). But that juxtaposition is part of what makes the show so appealing! I am very happy to have been given this opportunity to add my voice to this show.” Concerning his role, Kaji adds: “Seiya, the unicorn character I voiced, is a very deep character who can stand up to anyone in the world of this show!” With Seiya’s true colors yet to be revealed, and hints of a new romance between him and Retsuko, expectations for this season are sure to grow.
