As Hello Kitty always says, “You can never have too many friends”, right? Last week, we got a chance to get to know the fabulous model of the new Hello Kitty x Torrid collection, Allison Teng.
Allison is a self-proclaimed serial shopaholic and is the blogger behind the plus size fashion blog, Curvy Girl Chic. Allison started Curvy Girl Chic in 2009 as a creative outlet, hoping to connect with other plus size and curvy girls with a love for fashion, beauty, and shopping.
We got a chance to chat with her during the Hello Kitty x Torrid fashion collection launch event that was held at Sanrio HQ. This Q&A was originally featured on Hello Kitty’s Instagram Stories, but here it is just in case you missed it!
How long have you been a Hello Kitty fan?
I’ve been a Hello Kitty fan for as long as I can remember. I still remember going to South Coast Plaza with my parents, going to the Sanrio store and like begging my parent to buy ALL the Hello Kitty things.
Do you have any other favorite characters?
In addition to Hello Kitty, my other favorite characters are definitely Pochacco, Badtz-Maru, and Keroppi.
How did you get started on your blog?
I actually got started blogging right after I graduated from college. I was starting a like really boring job, so blogging was my creative outlet.
How did you get connected with Torrid?
I definitely got started with Torrid as a customer and how I ended up working with them was just through my blog. They found me, reached out, and the rest is history!
